Listen: Unknown Mortal Orchestra Announce EP, Cover Dirty Projectors
Ruban Nielson takes things down a notch with a stipped-back new cover.
are set to release a new EP, ‘The Blue Record’, on 28th October.
The acoustic EP will feature stripped-down versions of songs on ‘II’, as well as this cover version of Dirty Projectors’ ‘Swing Lo Magellan’, the title-track from DP’s most recent, 2012 album.
UMO’s take is a dazed, sweetly-told reminder of the band’s ability to wow without going overblown on the psych effects.
Jagjaguwar release ‘The Blue Record’ on 28th (UK/ Europe) and 29th October (North America).
