Little Simz unveils plans for sixth album ‘Lotus’
The rap luminary has also just dropped its lead single - a collab with Moonchild Sanelly and Obongjayar.

Little Simz is well and truly back, having confirmed that her sixth studio album ‘Lotus’ will arrive on 9th May via AWAL Recordings. And what’s more, she’s marked the occasion by teaming up with longtime collaborator Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly for a brand new single, too.
The follow up proper to 2022’s surprise release ‘NO THANK YOU’ (as well as last year’s ‘Drop 7’ EP), this new record is set to see Simz continue her remarkable artistic evolution, its title a reference to the renewal and growth symbolised by the lotus flower.
Having spent the last decade establishing herself as a truly game-changing rapper - and one who can count the Mercury Prize, Brit Awards, MOBO Awards, and an Ivor Novello Award among her accolades - she’s been teasing her incoming new era for days now, writing on Instagram that the visuals for new track ‘Flood’ find her “embodying [her] artistry in the truest form”.
You can check out her thundering latest effort and watch its evocative, Salomon Ligthelm-directed video below.
