Liverpool Sound City: Marmozets: ‘Just Expect Riffs With A Few More Riffs’

Marmozets, one of the brightest hopes in UK heavy music at the moment, play the final day of Liverpool Sound City.

Following a slew of unforgettable performances last year and a deal penned with Roadrunner Records, Marmozets are one of the brightest hopes in UK heavy music at the moment. They’re joining the ranks on the final day of Liverpool Sound City, and they’re intent with blowing people’s minds.

‘Just expect riffs, with a few more riffs with a bit of grated chaos on top,’ offers up William Bottomley, on what can be expected from their set later today. ‘We’ve always had such a great reception when we play Liverpool. The crowd are just so up for it every time.’

Their appearance in Liverpool also happens to mark the start of their festival season; that’s not to say they’ve not already spent the last few weeks slogging away on tour though.

‘It was amazing,’ he assures, speaking of their recent headline dates, which took place last month. ‘[They] felt really good as we hadn’t toured for a while, especially as we were doing our own headline shows The reception was really incredible too. We played a lot of new songs which can be a risk but we’ve heard nothing but really positive things about them so yeah them shows were awesome!’

They’ve also got their debut album in the works, which is an undeniably exciting prospect for the Bingley five-piece. ‘The album is completely finished just need to tweak of a few of the production side of things but I don’t think we could be any happier with it. We’re all so proud of it!’ Not to mention the busy few months ahead… ‘We’ve also got loads of dates lined up this summer and, then we’re off to America for Vans Warped tour which we are all really excited about and then home again to play 2 sets each day for Reading and Leeds.
’
