A number of drug-related incidents have led to the superclub’s license being revoked.

London club Fabric closes indefinitely

Another London venue bites the dust, with super-club Fabric’s doors now shut indefinitely.

It comes after two drug-related deaths took place at the venue in recent weeks. Both victims were just 18 years old. A license review is set to take place in 28 days’ time, with London police force the Metropolitan issuing the below statement:

“Officers felt the need to act due to concerns about the safety of those attending the club because of the supply of class A drugs in the venue and the recent deaths of two young men linked to the club.”

Fabric are yet to issue a statement of their own, though upon their forced closure this weekend, organisers issued the following:

“For the past 2 years fabric has operated without incident but tragically in the past 9 weeks two 18 year old boys have died as a consequence of drug overdoses.

In order to understand how this has happened we have agreed with the police and other agencies to suspend our operation whilst we investigate. The club will therefore be closed this weekend.”
