Listen to Loyle Carner cover A Tribe Called Quest for Radio 1
He was joined by the House Gospel Choir for the session.
Recently, Loyle Carner popped in to MistaJam’s show on BBC Radio 1 to perform three live tracks and, as you’d expect, it was a bit of a belter.
Loyle was joined by his DJ Rebel Kleff as well as the House Gospel Choir for the performance. Their appearance gave an added soulful edge to his latest single ‘The Isle of Arran’ as well as ‘Ain’t Nothing Changed’.
When challenged to do a cover version, Loyle went for a bona fide classic by taking on ‘Check The Rhime’ by A Tribe Called Quest. It was a faithful and playful version of the hip hop staple that’ll probably be stuck in your head for the rest of the day now.
