New singles!
Loyle Carner drops two more singles ‘about time / lyin’ ahead of new album ‘hopefully !’
The artist’s fourth studio record will be released on 20th June via Island / EMI.
Loyle Carner has dropped another two singles ahead of his forthcoming fourth studio album ‘hopefully !’, due on 20th June. The new tracks, ‘about time / lyin’, follow the latest double releases ‘all i need / in my mind’, which he shared just a few weeks ago.
This new music signals a new chapter for the rapper, who has taken inspiration from a more alternative palette for this new record (think Big Thief and Fontaines DC), which sees him singing and experimenting with a more guitar-based sound.
The new tracks tackle the growing responsibility of success and fatherhood, balancing being a parent with life as a successful artist. In the end of ‘about time’, we hear Carner’s son’s voice - someone who is in fact baked into the sound and message of the whole record, even down to the photo artwork (which he scribbled over when it was left about the house).
Carner accompanies this new music and forthcoming release with a huge global tour: ‘hopefully ! a world tour by Loyle Carner’, which will follow his headline show at Glastonbury’s The Other Stage (27th June). The world tour dates will also include a whopping four sold out shows at O2 Academy Brixton.
