Mae Muller returns with electro-pop banger ‘Breakaway’
It’s her first release in 15 months, and also her first as an independent artist.

Pop riser and former Eurovision contestant Mae Muller has come back with a bang, dropping a dancefloor-ready single to mark the start of her next chapter as an independent artist.
New track ‘Breakaway’ is her first release in over a year - since the arrival of her debut album ‘Sorry I’m Late’ back in 2023, to be exact - and is a bold, celebratory statement of intent born from a period of intense uncertainty.
“I wrote ‘Breakaway’ in a time when I felt quite lost as an artist,” Mae has shared, explaining more about the track’s origins. “I was putting so much pressure on myself with my newfound independence, that after a while I just decided to get in the studio and pour everything out and whatever I ended up with, at least it would be a weight off my chest.
“That was the 13th June last year and [it] has ended up being one of my favourite songs that I’ve ever written and the start to this new era. It’s about navigating vulnerability, but also finding my power within it, whilst not losing the joy along the way.”
