Mahalia leans into her ‘Luvergirl’ era on ‘Different Type Of Love’

Mahalia is back with her third release of the year, ‘Different Type Of Love’ - another shimmering slice of contemporary R&B that sees her join forces with dancehall staple Masicka for the first time. 

Following recent cuts ‘Pick Up The Pace’ and ‘Pressure Points’, this latest single acts as a fresh preview of her incoming, self-coined ‘Luvergirl’ era, for which Mahalia says she’s “leaning into the fun, unserious side” of love. “The world is so heavy right now,” she has explained, “I want my music to be a space where people can find joy and playfulness.”

Speaking on ‘Different Type Of Love’ specifically, the three-time MOBO Award winner has commented: “It’s fun, sexy and the perfect “luvergirl” record. I’ve been a FAN of Masicka for a long time and i’m so so excited that he’s on this!!”
