Maisie Peters pays homage to Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging to announce third album ‘Florescence’
The LP’s trailer - directed by Amelia Dimoldenberg - brilliantly recreates the teen classic’s most iconic moment.

In a very memorable move, Maisie Peters has confirmed details of her forthcoming new album ‘Florescence’ by reimagining Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging’s frankly iconic ‘olive costume’ opening sequence. (A cinematic masterpiece, if we do say so ourselves).
Starring Georgia Groome - the OG star of the cult favourite coming-of-age film - and directed by Amelia Dimoldenberg, the album trailer sees Maisie dressed as an oversized flower, running away from a party (IYKYK) until she bumps into her unlikely outfit inspiration.
Maisie’s costume is, of course, a reference to her new LP, which takes its title from the word meaning “the process of flowering”. Speaking about the record - a work centred around healing, growth, and falling in love - she has explained that “these 15 tracks depict a blossoming of myself from ages 23 to 25 and a blossoming of a true, real love that anchors both me and this record.”
Continuing, she notes: “It tells the story of the last few long winters, with all of their villains and thorns, heartbreaks and rains, and it leads you, by the end, into a perfect English spring, into the hope and catharsis that comes when the first wildflower blooms.”
Recorded in Nashville with previous collaborator Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Beyoncé, Chris Stapleton), ‘Florescence’ (out on 15th May) will act as a follow up to Maisie’s 2023 second outing ‘The Good Witch’, and is set to feature duets with Julia Michaels and Marcus Mumford.
Its first single, ‘My Regards’, is due to arrive on 6th February (next Friday). While you wait for that, though, grab some popcorn and watch the official ‘Florescence’ trailer below.
