Manchester acts Chloe Slater, Meduulla, Nxdia and Third Kulture to play BRITs Fringe showcase

Last month, plans were announced for the first ever BRITs Fringe programme, which is set to take place ahead of the BRIT Awards’ first foray into Manchester. And now, the lineup for the FRINGE LAB’s Next showcase has been revealed, with incredible local acts  Chloe Slater, Meduulla, Nxdia and Third Kulture all set to the stage.

Taking place at New Century Hall after the FRINGE LAB event happens during the day, the show will focus on showing off some of the city’s brilliant, eclectic new talents. While DIY readers will undoubtedly already be familiar with our recent Class of 2026 inductees Chloe Slater and Nxdia, they’ll be joined by rapper and poet Meduulla and rock-rap trio Third Culture on the night. What’s even more exciting is that tickets are free(!) and they’re available right now.

Alongside news of the showcase, names have been announced for the daytime FRINGE LAB event - a series of talks, workshops, drop-in sessions and more - which will include appearances from the likes of YolanDa Brown OBE DL, Jamz Supernova (BBC 6 Music), Rich Castillo (Lionbear Music), The Lottery Winners, Donae’O, Zed Bias, Låpsley, Sam Potts (AWAL), Scott Lewis (EMI North) and Mark Lippmann (Scruff of the Neck).

Curated by local music development organisation Brighter Sound - in collaboration with Manchester Music City and supported by Manchester City Council, GMCA and the Manchester Accommodation BID - the BRITs Fringe aims to celebrate the city’s rich musical history and incredible current grassroots scene (all under the banner of ‘Manchester Seen and Heard’), via a series of events happening across the city in the lead up to the BRIT Awards themselves.

Alongside the FRINGE LAB, other elements of the programme will include a trio of events across Band on the Wall, the School of Digital Arts (SODA) and the Royal Northern College of Music, all targeted at supporting young people who hope to pursue careers in the music industry, while a collaborative project with Manchester’s music education service will take BRITs Fringe into schools across the city.
