Manchester’s Roadhouse venue to become a restaurant
Live venue will close in May to re-open as a fine-dine eatery
Manchester live venue The Roadhouse is to be transformed into a restaurant after its closure in May.
Manchester Confidential report that the establishment on Newton Street in the Northern Quarter will be the new home for Mary-Ellen McTague’s ‘Aumbry 2.0’. The date for the re-opening is yet to be announced.
As reported last week, the basement venue - which has played host to early concerts by The White Stripes, Coldplay, and Muse - would close its doors on 31st May. Elbow played their first ever gig at The Roadhouse, after members spent time working behind the bar.
Mary-Ellen McTague, known for her appearances on Great British Menu will launch Aumbry 2.0 after leaving a Prestwich site in 2014.
