Marcus Mumford joins The Maccabees onstage for ‘Pelican’

The bands were playing at Mumfords’ Gentlemen of the Road stopover in Scotland

The Maccabees had a special guest join them onstage during their set at Mumford and Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road stopover gig in Aviemore at the weekend.

Marcus Mumford joined the band - who released their fourth album ‘Marks To Prove It’ last week - to perform their ‘Given To The Wild’ track ‘Pelican’ during their support slot at the Scottish all-dayer. It also hosted sets from Primal Scream, Simian Mobile Disco and King Charles.

The gig, played to over 30,000 people, was Mumford and Sons’ last UK performance before they headline the Reading and Leeds festival weekender at the end of the month.

After the collaboration, Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks dedicated their set closer ‘Grew Up At Midnight’ to the banjo-ditching world-beaters, calling their Gentlemen of the Road series of shows “an amazing thing”.
