Marmozets: “We’re gonna slay it!”
The five-piece are gearing up their second set of the day at Reading, and they’re betting it’ll be chaotic.
It’s safe to say that Marmozets have quite the reputation when it comes to their live shows, so what better way to take on Reading and Leeds than by letting them play twice?
Not only have they already raised the roof on the Radio 1/ NME tent, they’re going to be taking to the rather more intimate confines of The Pit stage tonight, and if anything, things are promising to be that much crazier.
“It was incredible!” frontwoman Becca MacIntyre enthuses, after finishing up their first set of the day. “I don’t think we were ready for the amount of people that were gonna be there. We didn’t expect that at all, but it was beautiful. We were on just before Royal Blood, so we managed to catch a little bit of them too and it was awesome, they sounded great and the crowd was insane for them. It was really cool.”
As for their second set of the day, the band are going to be making a couple of changes. “We’re gonna slay it!” she laughs. “We’re gonna play different songs, it’s definitely ending on completely different song and it’s gonna be ten times crazier than what has just happened.”
And as for tomorrow, the five-piece will be returning to their (sort of) hometown area for a true celebration during the Leeds leg of the weekender. “We’re really excited! That’s near our hometown so we’re very very excited to go up there. We know there’s gonna be a lot of people there from the Yorkshire area who have known us for quite a while, so we’re hoping it’s going to be an amazing gig.”
Marmozets play The Pit stage at 17.25 at Reading Festival today. For all DIY’s Reading and Leeds 2014 coverage, head here.
