Metric return with ‘The Shade’

Canadian band Metric have returned with their first new material in just shy of three years.

Emily Haines and co. were last around with ‘Synthetica’, their fifth album. They’re currently at work on a follow-up, due out later this year.

It’s being led with ‘The Shade’, an instant fix that sounds as if they never left in the first place. “I want it all!” demands Haines, in a track that harks back to their ‘Grow Up and Blow Away’ days.
