MØ shares heartfelt cover of Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’
It follows the recent release of her triumphant returning single ‘Who Said’.

Danish pop stalwart MØ is back with a new track, this time an industrial re-imagining of Avicii’s global hit ‘Wake Me Up’.
The cover arrives hot on the heels of her recent single ‘Who Said’, and is the next instalment of an exciting new chapter that’s set to continue in earnest in 2025. Speaking about why she chose to pay tribute to her late friend and collaborator in this way, MØ has said:
“Avicii’s music and life story has touched me deeply over the years. In 2012 in New York City at a weird rooftop party and to the tones of ‘Levels’, something about the unapologetic, almost aggressive energy mixed with a haunting emotional depth made me make up my mind to follow my dreams of becoming an artist, whatever the cost.
“I was working with some of his friends out of his house in LA, in the days leading up to his passing. I remember having felt so honoured to be working out of this Scandinavian legend’s studio. He changed music, and he changed me. Forever I will be remembered, enchanted and inspired by angel Avicii.”
