MS MR release new single, ‘Painted’

MS MR have unveiled a brand new single, ‘Painted’.

The NYC duo of Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow are working on the follow-up to 2013 debut ‘Secondhand Rapture’, with a new LP due out via Columbia later this year.

Here’s the first taste - a stop-start, bubbling up pop display, tangled up in tiny idiosyncrasies and booming horn sections.

Speaking to Billboard about the new record, Hershenow said: “It feels massive - we were pleasantly surprised with how big everything feels. Everything feels more upbeat and high-energy.” He also calls ‘Painted’ a “pretty weird song… not your typical pop song.”
