“My joints are not good”: Slaves’ Isaac injures ‘other’ shoulder
He’s warned fans they may have to fill in.
Back in November, Slaves’ Isaac Holman dislocated his shoulder on stage, the injury leading to a series of postponed gigs (and Wolf Alice’s Joel filling in on drums at this year’s Mercury Prize ceremony).
Now, according to a status update posted this afternoon, it appears he’s done it again. Sort of. And is warning fans they may have to intervene.
“Look, here’s the deal everyone,” he said on Facebook. “I dislocated my other shoulder on stage last night whilst dancing to our intro song (The Vengaboys - We Like to Party), I managed to pop it back in after a few seconds and play the gig. However I have woken up today and I am in a lot of pain with limited mobility. I’m off to see a specialist in Birmingham this afternoon. We are still going to try and get through the set tonight, and the following two nights, but please be aware of the situation. If we have to cut the set short, or just put on our album and sing along to it or get you lot up on stage and do a talent contest or something, this is why. My joints are not good.”
Slaves are in Birmingham tonight at the Institute, Brixton Academy tomorrow night, and then they have a home town gig at Tunbridge Wells’ Assembly Hall on Friday (18th December).
For the uninitiated, this below is the intro song in question.
