Nadine Shah announces new album ‘Holiday Destination’
She’s also revealed first track ‘Out The Way’ and announced a UK tour!
A couple of years after the release of her last album ‘Fast Food,’ South Shields singer-songwriter Nadine Shah has revealed her new album
will be out on 25th August!
‘Holiday Destination,’ released on 1965 Records, will see
Nadine shifting from a personal perspective and looking outwards to the wider
world, putting in to perspective how the uncertainty, political upheaval and
often xenophobic rhetoric of recent times has been a part of her own life for
many years. See the tracklisting below.
1. Place Like This
2. Holiday Destination
3. 2016
4. Out The Way

Nadine has also shared the lead single from the new album, ‘Out
The Way,’ a biting commentary on her coming to grips with her identity being
called into question despite being a second-generation immigrant and British
national. In a statement, Nadine explained how the rise of nationalism has
deeply affected her personally: “Even on Twitter I’ve had people telling me
‘oh, go back to where you’ve come from’ - and I’m like what? South Shields?
It’s a proper identity crisis for me. I’m a second-generation immigrant - I was
born in England, I’m very English - proper fucking English, mate!” she
jokes, before adding “but I’m also culturally Muslim.”
She’ll also be taking ‘Holiday Destination’ on tour around
the UK later in the year. As well as playing at London’s Citadel Festival and
End of the Road, she’ll hit the road in October.
