Nell Mescal returns with new single ‘Kissing The Ground’
Her first new music of the year follows on from the release of last year’s ‘The Closest We’ll Get’ EP.

Evocative Irish songwriter Nell Mescal has returned with her first new music of 2026, in the form of her darkly-tinged offering ‘Kissing The Ground’.
The single doubles as her first new music since the release of last year’s EP ‘The Closest We’ll Get’, and was debuted live during her recent European tour dates alongside Sigrid.
“’Kissing The Ground’ is a song about feeling so anxious that you may never come down to earth again,” Nell has said of her new single. “It’s about overthinking and wondering how other people can remain so calm when you feel like you are unravelling. I wrote it as a way of understanding myself a bit more through the overwhelming thoughts that creep in.”
Nell also has two upcoming live shows on the horizon, with a show in Rotterdam schedule for later this month, before she plays Kendal Calling later this summer.
