Nieve Ella shifts up a gear in new single ‘Drive’
It’s the indie-pop riser’s first release of 2026.

Nieve Ella is back, having kick-started her musical year with a brand new track, ‘Drive’ - a guitar-led, moodier offering that sees her tap into a more nocturnal, mature sonic landscape than previously explored on 2024 EP ‘Watch It Ache And Bleed’.
The single acts as a follow up to her 2025 cuts ‘Good Grace’, ‘Lucky Girl’, and ‘All My Mess’, and marks the start of a new chapter for the Shropshire-born songwriter, who, on this evidence, is looking ahead with confidence and conviction.
“I wrote ‘Drive’ seeking independence and relief from the emotional ties and pressure I feel,” she has shared, explaining that the song “uses driving as a metaphor for taking control of my life and escaping that feeling of being held back.”
Nieve also notes that “it speaks about my feelings of freedom and self-belief, and the conflict between maintaining companionship and prioritising myself and the life I am building.”
