Orbital Unveil New Track, Album & Tour

The album will be the duo’s first in eight years.

Orbital have announced that they will not only release a new album - their first in eight years - in 2012, but they’ll be playing a UK tour too.

“It is a kaleidoscope of everything we like about electronic music,” says one half of the duo, Paul Hartnoll. “But the biggest influence on this album has been two years of playing live, listening to old Orbital music. We wanted to make music that we would like to play live. It had to flow and ebb like a live set.”

The first track from the forthcoming release is titled ‘Never’, and can be heard now using the player below.

The run of dates, meanwhile - which includes a stop at the Royal Albert Hall, London - will kick off in Manchester next April. Here are the details:

APRIL
05 Manchester Academy
06 Leeds Academy
07 Glasgow ABC
08 Liverpool Academy
09 Cambridge Corn Exchange
10 London Royal Albert Hall

Tickets will go on general sale on Friday 28th October.
