Oscar joins Huw Stephens on Radio 1 to perform three session tracks

Recorded in the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios, Oscar performed ‘Daffodil Days’, ‘Beautiful Words’ and ‘Feel It Too’

Earlier this week Oscar joined Huw Stephens on his Radio 1 show to perform tracks from his forthcoming ‘Beautiful Words’ EP in session. Recorded in the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios, Oscar and his band performed ‘Daffodil Days’, ‘Beautiful Words’ and ‘Feel It Too’.

Oscar also joined Huw in the studio to discuss his musical origins, heroes (including Missy Elliot, Alicia Keys and Big L) and having the star studded fan base of The Bill’s DC Jim Carver at his gigs. Oscar also discussed his upcoming festival gigs and the chaos of touring with Hinds.

Oscar’s ‘Beautiful Words’ EP is out on the 15th June via Wichita - earlier this month DIY caught up with Oscar in his room as part of our ‘Roommates’ feature on the beauty of bedroom recording, check out the full feature here.

Oscar will play Latitude (16th-19th July), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
