Panda Bear airs new mini-doc, ‘Greeting The Reaper’
The feature includes Sonic Boom, who produced the latest album.
‘Greeting The Reaper’, a short documentary about Panda Bear’s new album ‘…Meets The Grim Reaper’ has been shared online. The feature shows Noah Lennox and producer Pete Kember (Sonic Boom) talking about the album’s concept and how it was recorded during their time together in Lisbon.
Directed by Sam Fleischner and produced by How Follows What, the fifteen minute short opens with footage at a Lisbon zoo before Lennox and Kember head to a studio to present the instruments and spaces used to create the album. Going between a McDonalds, the zoo and Lennox’s home, Panda Bear answers questions about the LP’s themes and how it relates to his past and future work.
Throughout the feature, snippets of the album are played to match each stage of Sonic Boom and Panda Bear’s discussion, highlighting how each song came together as a whole.
‘Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper’ is out now on Domino Records. Watch ‘Greeting The Reaper’ below.
