Paperwhite unveil new track, ‘Take Me Back’

A few familiar traits pop up in brother-sister duo Paperwhite’s latest track. There’s the same angst-laced restraint that defines Chvrches’ synth pop, and a similar sky-reaching embrace to that of fellow Brooklynites Hearts. Katie and Ben Marshall aren’t strictly borrowing ideas, mind you - this is a glittering gem of its own making.

‘Take Me Back’ shuns its title by being anti-nostalgia. It’s the duo’s second head-turning track in a matter of months, linking up with the shiny-as-hell ‘Magic’. This stands head and shoulders above the rest in being their most immediate cut to date, centred around a chorus that repeats one single mantra and strikes gold in the process.
