Para Alta’s new single ‘Turn The Lights Out’ is a brilliant rush of blood

The band are releasing a compilation called ‘Greatest Hits 2016-2019’ next March via Kissability.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Para Alta.

London’s Para Alta brought sweeping indie bangers to our Big Indie Big Nights series back in June. They then shared a video for their track ‘Dusk’, recorded at the show at London’s Two Tribes brewery.

Now, the four-piece have returned with a new single and details of an upcoming compilation.

‘Turn The Lights Out’ is a brilliantly forceful new cut, full of anthemic, rushing guitars and vocals that feel like they’re shooting for festival main stages.

Telling us about the track, the band say: “Turn The Lights Out was originally recorded with a different chorus. We’d had the mix back for a couple of weeks but it didn’t have the spark. So I took it back to the acoustic and ended up rewriting pretty much everything other than the verses.

“It was one of the best/boldest decisions we’ve made as a band, recording isn’t cheap so it meant a lot for us to not settle for something that wasn’t our best.”

The band are set to play a handful of live dates before the end of the year. Listen to ‘Turn The Lights Out’ and view the upcoming dates below.
