Parquet Courts head to Mardi Gras in the video for ‘Wide Awake!’

Parquet Courts recently announced that their new album ‘Wide Awake!’ is all set to be released on 18th May and at the time they also shared ‘Almost Had To Start A Fight/ In And Out Of Patience’.

Now they’ve shared the title track and like its own exclamation mark suggests, it’s an exuberant clip. It follows the band to New Orleans during Mardi Gras; they’re all dressed in purple suits, they get beads and, as you’d imagine, it’s a jolly good time all round.

Director Brother Willis said: “I was very intrigued by the band’s idea to spend a few days filming all around New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Probably should’ve thought twice about it, but we all came out the other side changed people and with a video (or more?) in our collective pocket”.

The band’s own Austin Brown added: “You’ll never guess what happens next….” Intriguing! Guess there’s only one way to find that out…
