Passion Pit cancel festival appearances due to illness
Main man Michael Angelakos is suffering with “bronchitis/pneumonia”.
Passion Pit have been forced to cancel a pair of festival appearances in North America due to main man Michael Angelakos falling ill.
Viaa statement posted on the band’s Facebook page, Angelakos reveals he has been bedridden with “bronchitis/pneumonia”, and “must rest”.
“I am so sorry to let you know that I will not be able to perform this weekend. “, he wrote. “Due to my lingering issues with bronchitis/pneumonia, I’ve been forced to cancel performances at the Way Home and Mo Pop festivals. This is crushing and breaks my heart. I’m so sorry to have had to cancel all of these shows. As instructed, I have been in bed this entire time trying to get better. However, I’ve not gotten just well enough to perform. I must rest. If I could be out there, I would. I think we all know how incredibly annoying it is to fall ill, but letting fans down is the worst. I am so sorry. I’m going to go continue to do my best to rest and recuperate. Thank you to everyone for understanding. Have a great time this weekend and I hope to be able to play for you sooner than later.”
The festivals in question are WayHome in Oro Medonte, Canada tomorrow (25th July) and MO POP in Detroit on Sunday (26th).
Passion Pit tour Japan and Australia next month, and North America in the Autumn. Album ‘Kindred’ was released back in April.
