Patti Smith joins U2 in London for ‘People Have the Power’
Group’s residency at the O2 Arena continues.
On last night’s leg of U2’s O2 Arena residency in London, they were joined by Patti Smith for a performance of her ‘People Have the Power’ song.
Blending the track with a rendition of Them’s ‘Gloria’ (reinterpreted by Smith for her ‘Horses’ album), this was the second high-profile guest appearance on U2’s London dates. Earlier in the week, Noel Gallagher joined them for ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’.
Bono introduced Smith to the crowd by saying: “To take us home, as she took us here, let’s see if we can do something very special.”
Smith is currently promoting second memoir ‘M Train’, and she’s already working on a third memoir to accompany that and ‘Just Kids’.
Tonight and tomorrow night (30th and 31st October), Patti Smith headlines London Roundhouse.
