It’s not long now until Peace showcase their latest record ‘Happy People’ to the world, and to get themselves warmed up, they headed to Maida Vale for a special BBC Radio 1 session.

As standard, the four-piece were asked by host Zane Lowe to cover a song of their choice and they settled upon the latest ditty from Charli XCX, as featuring Rita Ora, to round out their session.

Admitting that they only heard the track when it was played on Radio 1 recently, frontman Harry Koisser claims to have realised “Oh my god, this song is so good!” within his first listen and was soon in contact with Charli - who they actually duetted with for a cover of David Bowie’s ‘Fame’ in New York last year - to tell her so. “It was like the stars aligned for a moment,” he offered, before diving headfirst into a much scuzzier rendition of the hook-laden hit.

The band’s Maida Vale session also showcased two tracks from the band’s forthcoming album ‘Happy People’: recent single ‘I’m A Girl’ - complete with a special, radio-friendly edit of ‘Boyce-y!’ - and the more melancholy ‘Some Day’.

Have a listen to the whole session - complete with Zane Lowe’s brilliant football-style chant of ‘Boyce-y and the beers!’ which has the band in fits - over on the Radio 1 website.
