Pete Wentz relaunches label Decaydance
Reborn superlabel DCD2 signs LOLO and New Politics.
Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz has announced he will relaunch his record label Decaydance.
Retagged as DCD2, the first release will be from Memphis-born, Brooklyn-based LOLO, who featured on last year’s Panic! At The Disco single ‘Miss Jackson’. You can check out the video for her new single ‘Hit & Run’ below.
Also on DCD2 are New Politics, with both acts joining Fall Out Boy and Paramore on their joint headline MONUMENTOUR this summer. Original acts P!ATD, Cobra Starship, Travie McCoy and Fall Out Boy themselves will remain on the label.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Wentz explains: “One of the things about this label is that the artists are friends; we tour together, work together, have fun together. It’s always authentic, and when Fall Out Boy took time off, I was thinking of what the next chapter of it would be. And with Lolo, who’s got such exciting songs, and New Politics, who I’ve always wanted to take under my wing, I think we’ve got it.
“I’m really excited about the future, whether it’s Fall Out Boy or DCD2. When you quit adapting and starting living in the past, you wither and die. You can pay homage to the past, but at the same time, you’ve got to always look towards the future.”
