Petite Noir shares new single and video for ‘Best’

Petite Noir has shared a new single and video for ‘Best’.

The new cut will feature on Yannick Ilunga’s debut album ‘La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful’, out on 11th September through Double Six / Domino Records.

Directed by Travys Owens, the video captures Ilunga’s self-described “Noirwave” genre in a visual form, challenging the Western perceptions of Africa as a “dark continent”. The art direction was provided by Rochelle Nembhard, who explains the concept as follows:

“I wanted to break all boundaries in how we portrayed the continent and her people. The video showcases the beauty of the continent, the richness in her landscapes, the sacredness of her culture, the immense diversity of her tribes and the natural, inherent beauty and style of her people.”
