Pillow Person whips up a storm in the video for ‘On Your Way’

Ever had a desire to smear whipped cream on to your face? How about baby food? No? This might get a bit weird then.

Under the name Pillow Person, Sarah Jones (best known as Hot Chip’s drummer) has unveiled her latest single ‘On Your Way’, a pulsating number that’s part bubblegum pop and part club banger. It’s now got a brightly-coloured new video with a twist. Sarah said in a statement that: “after making the video, I realised that I must have been inspired from a memory from many years ago when I saw Mortiis live and the lights were too bright.”

That kind of explains its bright look, but not the slightly uncomfortable vibe going on here. Sarah smears her face in whipped cream (and some other kind of gross foods) and starts to sing and dance. It’s a little bit like watching David Cronenberg inject some of his signature body horror into a twee pop video. Yeah, creepy.
