Premiere: Alexander’s Festival Hall - ‘Upturned’
Former Kompakt artist’s new single due 9th April. Debut album, ‘Not A Dry Eye In London’ out soon.

Behind the scenes the man behind Alexander’s Festival Hall, Alexander Mayor, has been well known among London’s electronic circles - previously appearing in Kompakt band Baxendale and working as a producer working with the likes of Piney Gir.
But here he appears in a new guise and right under the limelight for the very first time. Alexander’s Festival Hall’s sound is, in the artist’s own words, ‘romantronica’. A sub-genre with the population of one, it appears.
This, his first single entitled ‘Upturned’, is due out 9th April. The song follows the trend of classically-trained electronic musician emerging right now, with it’s cleverly understated progression and mix of the traditional and the new.
Meanwhile his debut release, the wonderfully named ‘Not A Dry Eye In London’, is out soon. It’s comprised of, again in Alexander’s words, ‘13 songs that chart the complexities of love in cities to the sound of broken nightclub-tinged balladry.
‘Upturned’ is available digitally via State51/MelodicalTrax on 9th April.
You can listen and stream below, a video is expected to drop early next week.
