Premiere: Listen: Bat And Ball Stream New Single ‘Stops My Mouth’
London five-piece give method to minimalism for a new single via Hospital Samples/Kissability.

Jagged, minimal pop is either a default mode or something that’s seriously challenging. A post-XX landscape witnesses a countless number of new bands attempting to give their own slant on a ‘less is more’ approach - it’s only on a rare occasion that a group like Bat and Ball steps forward.
The brother-sister duo of Abi and Chris Sinclair are backed by Jamie Coe, Harri Chambers and Ed Burton. For a five-piece, they show impressive restraint. Instead of opting for casual cacophony, they keep things sharp, especially on new single ‘Stops My Mouth’.
Defined by clipped guitars and Abi’s forthright vocals, everything knows its place, every single element is aware of its end-point. It makes for a stirring, genuinely brave single that’s destined to turn heads in the thousands.
Hospital Samples/Kissability release ‘Stops My Mouth’ on 28th April. Bat and Ball play a show at London’s Shacklewell Arms on the same night - they also play this year’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton, 8th-10th May 2014.
