Manchester expansionists get the keys to the city with a track from their new EP.

Premiere: Listen: Letters To Fiesta Unveil ‘Tears Apart’ Track

Manchester always has something bubbling up to the surface, but rarely does it emerge in such richly diverse colours. MONEY are mavericks with a faithful cause, the post-WU LYF Los Porcos crew are giving a whole new take on tropical pop with a studio-sheen, and Letters to Fiesta are a completely different prospect altogether.

The group’s last two outings have been staples on DIY’s own Neu Bulletins. ‘Tears Apart’, though, is a ridiculously giant step forwards.

Coming off all ‘Wuthering Heights’ with its initial, fidgeting verses, it soon proceeds into something colourful and energised. Anna Etherington’s vocals command a scampering cast, blending the kind of forest-shaking harmonies Fleet Foxes would do anything to sport, alongside thumping basslines and stomping percussion. So many grand, disparate elements, all segueing into one head-spinning force by the song’s conclusion. How it comes together is anyone’s guess, but Letters to Fiesta are surely onto something special.

‘Tears Apart’ is taken from a forthcoming EP - UK tour details are set to be announced in the coming weeks too.
