Premiere: Listen: Paradise Remix Gaps’ ‘Keep You’
Two of DIY & Neu’s favourite new acts combine in stormy circumstances.
You could pretty much attack a Gaps song from any angle. It’s there to be pinched, skewed and reinterpreted. The folky strum that sits in the foreground hides a constantly malleable electronic current. Bands are beginning to pick up on it.
London tropical-pop heads Paradise have taken on the Brighton duo’s ‘Keep You’, which forms one half of Rachel and Ed’s debut single on Sexbeat.
Paradise’s take is a stormy, heady embrace, focused almost entirely on the electronic half of the track, with distant vocals weaving their way in every so often.
DIY has the premiere. Listen to Gaps’ ‘Keep You’ (Paradise Remix) below.
Gaps play London’s Waiting Room (5th September) and White Heat @ Madame Jojos (24th September).
