Premiere: Listen: We Have Band Stream New Single, ‘Modulate’

The pulse-raising staples of We Have Band’s effortlessly sharp sound have only become more in vogue since we last heard from the group. Arcade Fire have recruited DFA-stamped hi-hats and even kidnapped James Murphy for a couple of weeks to help up the anti on their disco-tastic sound. And when it comes to funk’s recent ascent into the charts, the story begins with ‘Get Lucky’ and it hasn’t really stopped motoring ever since.

Calling We Have Band ‘funky’ might fall a step short of the mark. There’s less emphasis on the good times, more on an all-enveloping melancholy, especially on new song ‘Modulate’. No doubt this is something you can dance to, but the dancefloor belongs to lost souls requiring sudden, euphoric escape.

‘Modulate’ is released on 1st June following new album ‘Movements’, which comes out 28th April.
