Premiere: This Many Boyfriends Unveil New Video For ‘Communist’
‘(I Should Be A) Communist’ was produced with Ryan Jarman, of The Cribs.

DIY are giving you the first look at the brand new video from This Many Boyfriends. Oh yes, yes we are.
The ever so slightly strange clip for ‘(I Should Be A) Communist’ was directed by Nik Vestberg - the man behind Allo Darlin’s video for ‘Capricornia’ - and Rich, of This Many Boyfriends fame, had this say about it: ‘The video was really fun ‘cos Nik is an ace director, his videos for Allo Darlin’ are awesome. It was a really fun day ‘cos we got to mess around in the park with Joe (Daniel, Angular Recording Co.) in a bear suit.’
And how was it recording the single with The Cribs’ very own Ryan Jarman? “We really love The Cribs and trust his judgement on doing justice to our songs. And the album he did with Comet Gain is ace! Ryan really captured the idea of what we want to sound like by doing everything as live takes and leaving our odd mistakes in.”
TMB’s Laura also commented: “It was awesome! It was a really, relaxed atmosphere in the studio with Ryan and Seb and West Heath is so lovely, it was a lot of fun.”
‘(I Should Be A) Communist’ is released on the 21st May through Angular Recording Corporation, as a follow-up to their last single ‘Starling’. The track gets released on limited edition red 7’ vinyl and as a digital download.
You can also check out This Many Boyfriends at one of their two single launch shows (and they’re both free entry, so there’s no excuses!)
