Primal Scream share video for 1986 track ‘Velocity Girl’
The video features Edie Sedgwick.
With retrospective collection ‘Maximum Rock ’n’ Roll’ set for release on 24th May, Primal Scream have announced details of a remastered reissue of 1986 track ‘Velocity Girl’, alongside an Edie Sedgwick-starring video.
The song will be out physically - also on 24th May - alongside new track ‘Broken’.
“I had an Edie Sedgwick type character in mind when I wrote ‘Velocity Girl’,” says Bobby Gillespie. “I read Jean Stein’s biography about her and I wanted to meet a girl like that. Hanging out with Warhol, The Velvet Underground , Bob Dylan and shooting speed whilst looking absolutely fabulous. Super hip and beautiful. She was the muse. I love her.”
Primal Scream play two small gigs next month - Brighton’s Haunt on 20th May and London’s Scala the following night - as well as All Points East, Warrington’s Neighbourhood Weekender and Summer Sessions in Edinburgh this August.
