Taste of destruction
Pup create their own mini-motion picture with ‘MABU’ video
Canadians give a sweet, fitting and destructive tribute to a shit car.
Initially, Pup’s new video for ‘MABU’ might just look like a bunch of twenty-something guys destroying shit for no reason. And yes, the sheer levels of savagery mess have definitely swayed where this video ended up going (there’s beer, pizza, fireworks, everything you could ask for), but there’s a beautiful narrative at play here too.
In a ridiculously ambitious new clip, the Canadian noise outfit give tribute to their crummy old car. Breaking through the windows, wrecking the thing to pieces, they kickstart the thing once more for a local destruction derby.
Picking up the second place prize (you’re a winner in our hearts, Pup), they then take to the most emotional car funeral of all time.
Menno Versteeg directs. It’s quite something - watch the new Pup video below. Debut album ‘Reservoir’ is out now.
