Rage Against The Machine to release Live At Finsbury Park film

Rage Against The Machine are to release a film of their Live At Finsbury Park concert. The show was held five years ago after a Facebook campaign took the band’s 1992 track ‘Killing In The Name’ to Christmas number 1, ending the X Factor’s monopoly over the festive charts. Unlucky, Joe McElderry.

At the time, the band’s guitarist Tom Morello called their attempted chart take-over “a wonderful dose of anarchy”. The song eventually went to number one, and at their Finsbury Park ‘thank you’ gig, the band revealed that the song sales and donations around the campaign raised over £162,000 for charity.

Footage was previously only available in the Rage Against The Machine Deluxe Box Set. The new twelve track film will include behind the scenes footage, and an interview with ‘Killing In The Name’ chart campaigners Jon Morter and his ex-wife Tracy.

‘Rage Against The Machine - Live At Finsbury Park’ is out via Eagle Rock Entertainment, and goes up for pre-order on iTunes on 11 September. Watch concert footage of the band performing ‘Killing In The Name’ below.
