Reading 2011: Grouplove: Reading Set Was “Unexpectedly Good”
We catch up with Grouplove following their Reading Festival set.

Catching up with Grouplove following their Reading Festival set yesterday (Saturday 27th August), the band told DIY their set was ‘epic’ and ‘unexpectedly good.’
‘We had a blast,’ revealed bassist Sean Gadd. ‘Reading Festival has so much history and it’s just such a great festival that we’re just really happy and proud to be a part of it.’
‘Today was epic,’ keyboardist Hannah Hooper added. ‘It was really unexpectedly good. We drove pretty far to get here and we didn’t sleep a lot so it was the best alarm clock that we’ve ever experienced.’
Ryan also told us it differed a fair bit from their earlier appearance at Glastonbury: ‘It’s a different crowd. Everyone here’s more geared towards rock and more alternative music, but that makes it just as special because it’s nice to know that those fans that are specifically into those kinds of music and still appreciate a band that can also play Glastonbury.’
Grouplove also played Leeds Festival today (Sunday 28th August) on the Festival Republic Stage. Check back for the full interview later in the week.
