Reading & Leeds set for new announcement on 2nd February

Metallica are already confirmed for the 2015 fest.

Reading & Leeds is set to announce its second headliner for 2015 on 2nd February, according to organiser Melvin Benn.

Speaking to NME after picking up a Lifetime Achievement Award at the European Festival Awards (taking place in Groningen, Holland), the Festival Republic boss was tight-lipped, with the exception of one specific date.

“I wish I could tell you! All I can say is: keep your ears open on February 2nd,” he told the publication. “The Arctic Monkeys last year were unbelievable, but you know what? That was last year. They know that was last year, and they’ll come back bigger and better in 2016 or 2017. In the same way I’ll come back and say: who’s this year?”

So far, Reading & Leeds has confirmed Metallica as its first headliner. Jamie T and Run the Jewels are also set to appear, with Pierce the Veil, Refused, Wilkinson and Manchester Orchestra completing the initial bill.

Tickets for the festival - running 28th-30th August - are available here.
