Record Store Day 2015 releases announced

Re-releases abound, but there are some new records, too!

You know the drill. Every year there’s a bumper list of releases announced for Record Store Day, the Saturday where the UK’s independent record shops (yes, SHOPS) flog a load of releases you can’t get in HMV or online.

There’ll be queues down the road from silly o’clock in the morning outside the various participants - which (obviously) includes a load of DIY stockists (HELLO!).

There’s a handy list of participating stores over on the RSD UK website, so you can check whether there’s anyone within spitting distance taking part - though beware, not every shop opts to stock every item; and items are strictly limited.

ANYWAY on to the good stuff - what’s being released. Compiling that shopping list might take some time - despite newly-introduced QC type efforts, there’s still A LOT.

This year’s UK list (there are often different releases in the US, too - Brand New’s ‘Deja Entendu’ doesn’t appear on the UK list, sorry emos) is dominated by pressings of already-released records, whether it’s The White Stripes’ ‘Get Behind Me Satan’, The Maccabees’ debut ‘Colour Me In’, or a picture disc 12” of George Ezra’s chart-topping ‘Wanted on Voyage’.

However, there are some new gems to be found - Honeyblood’s brand new ‘No Big Deal’ features on a 7”, as do Mumford & Sons’ ‘Believe’ and Florence + The Machine’s ‘What Kind of Man’. There’s also a spot for Chvrches’ ‘Get Away’ and ‘Dead Air’ to pair up, and Django Django are to issue ‘Beginning to Fade’ from forthcoming LP, ‘Born Under Saturn’.

There’s a big, long, list on a PDF via RSD UK’s website for those with eagle-eyes; we’re not quite sure what the self-titled Peace record is (though the website says it’s a picture disc), or TV on the Radio’s “12” (including one or more remixes?)” might actually be.
