Rhodes covers Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’

Performing on Huw Stephens’ Piano Sessions, Rhodes brings a teary-eyed intensity to T-Swift’s pop banger.

Dropping into Huw Stephens’ Piano Sessions, DIY Class of 2015 graduate Rhodes stopped by to perform a stripped-back cover. A departure from his own output, he chose to take on T-Swift’s pop banger ‘Blank Space’.

Teasing the strange, obsessive lyrical qualities out of the original, and hurling them headlong into an intense reworking, meeting strangers - and immediately imagining going off on holiday together - has never sounded so creepy. He also pronounces “got a long list of ex-lovers” very clearly, with no Starbucks related confusion to be seen.

Rhodes recently played a sold out show at London’s Village Underground, and he also released new EP ‘Turning Back Around’ on April 5th. A debut album is expected this summer.
