Oo nah nah
Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’ finally has a release date
Her eighth album is reportedly hitting TIDAL on 27th November, with general release on 4th December.
To quote RiRi’s own words from her very own song ‘Wait Your Turn,’ “the wait is over, the wait is over”. After three and a half years, it finally looks like ‘ANTI’ has a release date.
Unspecified “sources” close to Rihanna’s label Roc Nation say ‘ANTI’ will launch on TIDAL on November 27th. Previous teasers on her new website also hinted towards a release on Jay-Z’s music streaming service. Those same “sources” say that general release of RiRi’s album will be 4th December.
There’s no doubt that the album is imminent - RiRi’s certainly amping up for something. Rihanna’s ANTIdiaRy website now hosts a fairly creepy treasure hunt for mobile devices, taking intrepid fans through a bedroom called ‘R1’. It’s presumably got something to do with Rihanna’s beginnings in the music industry, and her first album ‘Music of the Sun,’ given that this is new album is unofficially ‘R8’. Keys will unlock further rooms as more clues emerge, and the website also features snippets of brand new music.
A mysterious new account called the keyholder is also sharing ‘ANTI’ album trailers on twitter - one of which states “the time is nearing”. An instagram account under the same name is sharing various scrawled cartoons of Rihanna’s crown-wearing ‘ANTI’ artwork; drawn on walls around the world. It’s all very exciting.
