Robin S, Utah Saints & more join line-up for The Symphonic Sounds of Back to Basics

Dave Beer’s Back To Basics club night gets transformed into a Leeds live event this July.

Robin S, Utah Saints and Alison Limerick have all been added to the line-up of this year’s Symphonic Sounds of Back to Basics event.
Taking place at Leeds’ Millennium Square this July, this year’s edition of the festival - which sees Dave Beer’s Back to Basics club night transformed thanks to Orchestra of Opera North - will hark back to the heady days of dance music in the early 90s.
As well as the ‘Show Me Love’ star, other acts confirmed to appear at this year’s event include Shades of Rhythm, Saffron (formerly of N-Joi), Robert Owens and Sara Garvey, who’s best known for her work with Nightmares on Wax.
This year’s edition of of The Symphonic Sounds of Back to Basics takes place in Leeds’ Millennium Square on Friday 27 July.
Speaking of this year’s show, Back To Basics’ founder Dave Beer has said: “After being totally blown away by last year’s event, which still seems like a surreal dream and probably the highlight of my life so far, we can’t wait to come back with another knock-out live show that the city can be proud of. It was a humbling experience to get such a great response from the citizens of Leeds and further afield, smack bang in the centre of Leeds under the watchful eyes of Millennium Square’s golden owls.
“I am really honoured once again to be working alongside Leeds City Council and the brilliant Orchestra of Opera North and I am so excited to collaborate closely once again with my good friends Jez and Tim from Utah Saints. It’s also going be amazing to be performing a rendition of my own track that I wrote for Robert Owens, dedicated to beloved friends both past and present.”
