Rozi Plain sets the record straight with ‘Actually’ single
London-based, Winchester-born talent finds raw truth in a take from her ‘Friend’ album, on Lost Map.
Rozi Plain might deliver in softly-softly terms, but each second of her ‘Actually’ single digs up a new kind of reality. Sleepily announcing its intentions via swimming synth lines and simple acoustic plucks, it’s the kind of song that begins as a whisper before revealing its true, giant-wrestling colours.
Debuting on DIY (below), ‘Actually’ is due out 2nd March as a single, a couple months ahead of Rozi’s new ‘Friend’ album, out 4th May on Lost Map (Tuff Love). Simple on the outside but packing a complex heart, it’s just about the most gorgeous, all-encompassing introduction imaginable for this London-based songwriter. Anyone new to Plain’s work should dig into previous LPs ‘Inside Over Here’ and ‘Joined Sometimes Unjoined’, too.
See forthcoming UK dates with This Is The Kit (supporting the band, and playing as a member of) above the premiere.
