Run the Jewels forced to postpone shows after tour bus catches fire
Montreal gig is put on hold, with the bus set ablaze.
Run the Jewels were forced to postpone a gig in Montreal earlier this week, after their tour bus pulled over on a highway before catching fire, en route from Detroit to Toronto.
The duo’s El-P provided updates on Twitter and Instagram pointing to the incident, claiming that the “merch trailer caught fire” within the tour bus.
A show was set to take place tonight, 27th November. Instead, El-P and Killer Mike flew straight to Toronto to play a gig on 26th November at Danforth Music Hall.
See El-P’s updates below.
Earlier this week, Run the Jewels’ Killer Mike took to an impassioned speech during a St. Louis show to declare injustice at the recent Ferguson rulings, which cleared police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown. Yesterday, Killer Mike went on record with Noisey to discuss the issue in depth, stating: “I just want to be the fuck out of this place. Why even stay here? If we’re this feared?”
Run the Jewels arrive in the UK next month - they play:
