Ryan Adams’ cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ has emerged, and it’s everything you expected

The track comes ahead of his full reworking of Swift’s ‘1989’ album.

In one of the most internet-ready stories of 2015, Ryan Adams has spent much of his summer re-recording Taylor Swift’s latest album ‘1989’ in the style of The Smiths. Because of course he has.

It’s been a long and winding road since, and one that many surely thought would never actually result in a release, but they were wrong - it’s actually here. Adams announced earlier this afternoon that the record will be put up for digital pre-order tonight (!) via the tweet below.

Adams then took to Beats1, joining Zane Lowe on air for a world premiere of his rendition of Swift’s VMA-winning ‘Bad Blood’. Stream the decidedly more sombre version of the track below, via Apple Music.

Is this actually real life? Apparently.
